Metrology and Quality apprentice

Quality Safety Environment (QSE) DEMGY Normandie - Saint-Aubin-sur-Gaillon (27)

I've been an apprentice in metrology and quality at DEMGY for 1 year. What I like about working at DEMGY is the availability of the operators to answer my questions and train me, as well as the many machines available. I can pride myself on being a real Swiss Army knife in the team, and that's a very gratifying aspect of my job: I'm versatile and I deal with a multitude of tasks related to my core business.

What is your job and how long have you been with DEMGY?

I'm currently a metrology and quality apprentice at DEMGY. I've been with the company for a year now. My career path began with a position in maintenance during my bachelor's degree, and now I'm continuing my studies in Master 1 at ITII Normandie.

What's the best thing about working here?

The most rewarding aspect of working here is the availability of the operators to answer any question and the development of the DEMGY Normandie site in terms of machines. The organization has greatly contributed to my professional development by enabling me to deepen my knowledge of quality and metrology, while entrusting me with varied and stimulating tasks on a daily basis.

What's your typical day like at DEMGY?

A typical day in my team involves generalizing risks across the different processes, supervising the metrology park (checking that checking fixtures and calibration are up to date), creating a dashboard to monitor metrology closely (workload, costs) and identifying all risks, particularly those related to machines and operators.

What do you like best about your job?

What I like most about my job is the liveliness of the tasks, which require constant versatility, and the fact that I can be a real Swiss Army knife in the team. I also love learning more about quality.

Is there anything you'd like to tell people who are thinking of applying?

For those considering applying, I would say that this company offers a stimulating diversity to consolidate knowledge. What's more, the average age in the company is not very high, which encourages enriching intergenerational sharing. It's an environment where you can really progress and develop professionally.
