Miller
Production DEMGY Paris - Clamart (92)
The diversity of tasks and projects means we never fall into a routine.
What's your job? What does it involve?
I'm a miller on a 5-axis milling machine. In Italy, I worked on a 6-axis milling machine with a vertical lathe. I did this job for 18 years at my last company in Italy, and I've been in this business for 30 years in all. I learned the trade in Italy, and that's where I developed my skills.
What's the best thing about working at DEMGY?
There are several aspects that I really appreciate at DEMGY. First of all, precision. This is fundamental to our work, and DEMGY makes it a point of honor to guarantee the precision of every part we manufacture. Secondly, cleanliness. The working environment is clean, which is not always the case elsewhere. Finally, safety is a priority, and this allows me to work with complete confidence. The managers and teams are also very sociable and welcoming, which creates a pleasant, collaborative atmosphere.
Can you describe a typical day?
My day starts with receiving the information needed to machine a part after it has been designed by our CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing) expert. We receive the data from the office, then prepare the machine by setting the tools and defining the origins. Once the machine is ready, we start machining the part. After machining, each part undergoes a rigorous inspection. I take care of the pre-check, then the quality controller carries out the final check. This procedure ensures that every part meets DEMGY's high quality standards.
What do you like about working at DEMGY?
What I enjoy most is the creativity. Every day, I work on different parts, which makes my job very varied and stimulating. The variety of tasks and projects means I never fall into a rut. I also like the emphasis on precision and detail, as it pushes me to give my best.
If you had to sum up DEMGY in 3 words, which would you choose?
Creativity and precision. Creativity, because we work on varied and innovative projects. And precision, because every piece we make has to be perfectly executed.
What message would you like to pass on to people interested in applying for a job at DEMGY?
I would say that DEMGY is an excellent company. It offers a warm welcome to newcomers, competitive salaries, and an emphasis on caring and collaboration. It's a place where you can really grow professionally.
