At DEMGY, ongoing training is central to our corporate culture. What I like most is the way we're always pushing ourselves to excel and acquire new skills.

Introduce yourself and explain your role at DEMGY FRASNE?

My name is Lény Thomas, I'm 29 years old, and I've been project manager at DEMGY FRASNE for two and a half years now. My role focuses on mold design and project management from A to Z. As project manager, I'm the customer's main contact right from the quotation phase, and I make sure that everything runs smoothly right through to delivery.

What are the main aspects of your job?

My work revolves around three main areas:
- Design: This is where it all starts, from the first sketches to the final plans.
- Schedule management: It's crucial to ensure that every stage of the project runs to schedule, from design to production.
- Quality monitoring: It's essential to ensure that the parts produced perfectly meet customer expectations and quality standards.
So I make sure that every stage of the project runs smoothly, taking into account deadlines, technical requirements and the quality of the final product.

How did you come to work in the plastics industry?

I discovered the plastics industry right after my A-levels. I took a BTS, followed by a bachelor's degree and a master's degree, all in the field of micro-engineering. This enabled me to immerse myself in the plastics industry and develop skills directly related to what I do today. It's really rewarding to see how perfectly my training matches my current job, where I can apply what I've learned throughout my studies.

How would you describe the corporate culture at DEMGY?

At DEMGY, continuing education is central to our corporate culture. What I like most is the way we're always pushed to excel and acquire new skills. It's an environment that encourages progress. It creates a framework where everyone can develop, both professionally and personally.

What aspect of working at DEMGY do you enjoy most?

The aspect I appreciate most at DEMGY is listening. In the design office, we're really encouraged to make proposals. Whether they're simple or more creative, no idea is rejected out of hand. Design is also about creativity, proposing new solutions, and the DEMGY team is always ready to listen to our ideas, whether they're a little innovative or even daring.

What do you love about your day-to-day work as a project manager?

What I love most of all is design. It's about 60% of my work, and it's the most creative and technical part. I work mainly with computer-aided design (CAD) software, where I design parts in 3D. Then I produce 2D technical drawings for the manufacturing teams. Seeing these virtual concepts transformed into real, functional parts is extremely gratifying.

If you had to describe DEMGY in three words, what would they be?

I'd say :
- Micro-engineering: This is the heart of our business at DEMGY FRASNE, a highly technical, cutting-edge sector.
- Innovative: We're always striving to be at the cutting edge of technology, especially when it comes to plastic injection processes.
- Human: DEMGY is a company on a human scale. There's a friendly atmosphere, where everyone knows each other and it's easy to work together.
